Hello friends

Everyone deserves to feel the freedom and confidence of healthy movement. My mission is to show you how to move safely and well. My aim is to give you knowledge and tools that help you create and maintain your strength, balance and freedom. Most importantly to move with ease and joy.

My Story

Growing up in Sydney's East, my memory is full of weekends at the beach, ducking the waves at Bondi Beach, and returning home to hide my sunburn. When the beach didn’t call, I could be found ice skating, roller skating, eating gelato, listening to disco music, and dressed in oversized brightly coloured tee shirts paired with equally as bright, shiny tights. A true child of the '70s!

As a teenager, I dabbled in photography. I spent hours clicking away then excitedly returning to my darkroom to develop and print photos of people and places from everywhere I'd been. Seeing images come to life was magic.

On completion of high school, I studied graphic design. The first job I landed was the position of junior panel artist at a poker machine factory. Yes! Such a job existed. It was a true eye-opener to have seen poker machines designed, constructed, and assembled onsite at the factory. Saws, drills, safety goggles, and steel flying everywhere!

From poker machines, I went on to work in magazines, starting with the role of junior designer at Modern Motor Magazine, Australian Consolidated Press. It was a great place to start and confirmed I'd chosen the right path at that time in my life. I continued in publishing design for 10 years, and art directed high-end magazines. These included women’s fashion, men’s fashion, bridal, teen culture, craft, and weekly news magazines.

During a stint in Melbourne, amongst the cafes, art, and music scene, I joined the art department of renowned Australian record company, Mushroom Records. Working in a fast-paced, exciting environment with music playing all day was definitely my jam.

As a lover of food and cooking, I completed an Advanced Certificate in Business Catering Operations in Sydney. I worked in food preparation for various cafes. A wonderful offering arose, to travel Australia with the catering team for international rock band U2 and their road crew, during their 1992 Zooropa world tour. Catering for rock bands was another fabulous experience. Yes, I love music!

After a knee injury and surgery, I started practising yoga again. Yoga was significantly helpful in my post-operative rehabilitation. Along with the physical benefits, I discovered that yoga was starting to help me unravel built-up stress I’d been carrying around for years.

I enrolled in a yoga teacher training course and started to teach soon after completion of the course. Wanting to learn more, I’ve since completed various other Yoga trainings. It’s definitely become a passion and an ongoing journey. Each teacher training I've undertaken, has provided me with knowledge and skills. I’m grateful to my teachers, all of whom have offered me something truly unique. These teachings include anatomy and

Yoga postures, philosophical aspects of yoga, breathing techniques, meditation techniques, and the practice of seeing life through different lenses.

The most recent training I completed altered the way I practice and now teach yoga. I trained in the LYT™ Yoga Method, which was created by Physical Therapist, Lara Heimann. The Lyt Style focuses on intelligent alignment, optimal posture, and sustainable movement. Training in a method using principles of functional anatomy helped me realise the important role posture plays in everyday life. Ultimately, my mission is to show you how to move well, and give you tools that help you create a yoga practice that gives you strength, stability and freedom to move with ease and joy.
